Where The Money Goes

This new section of our website will be dedicated to updating parents and teachers throughout the year regarding where the money we raise is going. So far this year:

• Listening Center Equipment - To further support Reading Workshop in Grades 1 & 2, the PTG recently approved a few thousand dollar expenditure on equipment and volume-control headphones for the classroom listening centers.  Now all the children will be able to do this activity simultaneously instead of in groups!
• Mini-grants for Teachers - We awarded each teacher (including specialists) a $250 mini-grant this year, to use on whatever they need for their classrooms.  We'll keep you posted on some of the more interesting uses our teachers have found!
• Welcome (Back) Gifts for Teachers - We put together gift bags of sorely-needed supplies, such as sanitizing wipes, paper towels, tissues, and baby wipes, and gave one to each classroom.
• Scholastic News - We've paid for this year's subscription to a great resource! Each child in grades K-2 receives approximately 32 issues per year, plus big editions teachers can use in the classroom! For more info, check out the Scholastic News website.
