How You Can Help

There are many ways you can volunteer your time and energy (in addition to helping in your child's classroom) to help the PTG support the programs at SGES.

Come to our Meetings: If your child goes to SGES, then you are already a member of the PTG, and therefore invited to all of our regular meetings.  We meet monthly at 7pm in the cafeteria at the school to discuss our fundraising and enrichment efforts.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Join a Committee: There are several committees which help to make and spend the money, and we're always looking for more help.  From bookfairs to wreath sales to planning the enrichment activities, we've always got room for more creativity and energy!

Donate directly to the PTG: Donations to SGES PTG are 100% tax deductible. We are a fully compliant 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Learn how to donate...

Box Tops for Education

Box Tops for Education: Clip, save, and send in those box tops! We earn 10 cents for every one you send in!  Just place them in a plastic baggie or tape them to the themed collection sheets (choose from Winter, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day) and send them back to school with your child.  You can ask friends and family to save them for you, too!  For more information on the program, including how well we're progressing toward our $1000 goal, visit the Box Tops for Education website.

A+ School RewardsStop & Shop A+ Rewards Program: If you have a Stop & Shop card, you can register it online with this special program that basically accumulates points and awards them to any school you select from a list of registered schools (we're one of them!).  At the end of each month, our school's total number of points is rounded up to the nearest 100 and we just keep earning more points from October-March!  For more information and to sign up, check out the A+ Rewards website and add SGES to your card (#07428).

Hospitality: If you are able to provide refreshments for some of our events and meetings, even if just once or twice a year please let our hospitality committee know!

Be Green, Earn GreenCapri Sun Terracycling: Send in your Capri Sun pouches from home and we get money for each one!  Please rinse the pouches and remove the straws, and send them in your child's backpack for them to take to the cafeteria.  We have two deadlines for submitting our pouches each year, December 30 and June 30.  For more information about how this program works, check out the Capri Sun Terracycling website.

Stop and ShopStop & Shop Cards: If you do any shopping at Stop & Shop, you can help us by buying a Stop & Shop card from one of our treasurers to use when you are shopping. It works like a debit card so if you don’t use the whole amount, you save the card and use the rest on your next shopping visit. It doesn’t cost you any extra money -- just pay the face value of the card. The SGES PTG makes 5% of all the cards we sell. Your card purchases can really add up! If you use just 2 $50 cards each month your family would earn $50 over the course of a school year!

Price Chopper Tools for Schools Program:  If you're shopping at the new Price Chopper in Shrewsbury, everything you purchase with your AdvantEdge Card earns points to help SGES get a larger share of the $500,000 in FREE equipment to be distributed through the Tools for Schools program. Once you let Price Chopper know you want your points going to SGES this year, you're done - registration carries over from year to year.  Points accumulate from August 10 - February 12.  To register, visit the service desk at the store or fill out this form - our school code is 14277!

The REDcardTarget Take Charge of Education Program: Use your Target REDcard and earn money for SGES on every purchase made from Target with your Target Credit Card - up to 1% of each purchase you make.
